Members of the ASECNA team that recently visited the country to calibrate the navigational equipment of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency NAMA have commended NAMA management for improved navigational facilities on ground at airports across the country.
Speaking at the end of the ten days exercise in Lagos, ASECNA team leader, Engr Nganan Jorin said this year’s calibration exercise was the best in the series of its calibration in the past ten years.
Engr Jorin, a Senegalese, explained that the calibration assignment was made possible without stress based on the NAMA management involvement through the provision of necessary logistics needed before their arrival for the exercise.
According to the ASECNA boss navigational equipment in the system were up to date stressing that accurate facilities will further enhance safety of the airspace in the country.
It was a successful calibration campaign, NAMA was prepared even before we came and they improved on the system without us having difficulty in carrying out the calibration”
With its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal, ASECNA an Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) was established in 1959 with 18 member states such as Chad, Cameroun, Gabon, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, South Africa, the Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Comoros, Niger and Madagascar.
The managing director of NAMA Engr Ibrahim Abdulsalam while responding, commended the team for a job well done stressing that it was the best in the series in the last ten years.
Abdulsalam expressed optimism that future exercise will be improved upon and hope to see them back in June this year.
