As Senate confirms Doro, minister vows to create inclusive humanitarian ecosystem

The appointment of Dr Bernard  Mohammed Doro as Minister of the  Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu was on Thursday  confirmed by the Senate.
Dr Doro’s appointment was confirmed after a brief appearance before the Senate during  plenary
Doro,  from Plateau State told the Senators  his vision for fostering an inclusive humanitarian ecosystem in the country.
He said  he would bring his enormous experience and certification across the facets of Pharmacy , Medicine , Law and Insurance to bear on impactful  policy crafting and implementation .
He promised to create a humanitarian ecosystem that is inclusive, guided by impartiality and independence.
Doro told lawmakers  that he will create synergy between security agencies to better target the individuals affected by crises, which he notes is always a challenge.
He said : ” I intend to contribute my quota to the Renewed Hope Agenda by transferring the different experiences to help in policy crafting and implementation. I should be a voice that’ll impact the country positively.
” Should I be assigned the humanitarian ministry? What I will be looking to do in order to bring some innovation into the ministry will be to create a humanitarian ecosystem that is efficient, that is transparent, and that is centered on the person that is being cared for.
“And this is with a view to bringing dignity to the individual, to ensure that the needs of this individual is met. And this will be done based on principles that are well established in providing humanitarian action.
“Things around impartiality, things around independence, things about just being human in our care for people”.
After a few questions, senators expressed satisfaction with his credentials and capacity to serve. The lawmakers subsequently asked him to take a bow and leave.
