Army Reviews Curfew in Maiduguri, Allows Movement between 8am to 5pm

Nigerian Military of the 7 Division Nigerian Army has reviewed the dusk to dawn curfew in Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Tukur Gusau, movement is now allowed between 8am and 5pm daily.

Col Gusau who made this announcement through a statement made available to journalists said the prevailing curfew hours would tarry till when the security situation is deemed better.

“The 7 Division Nigerian Army has after reviewing security situation in Maiduguri decided to relax the curfew. Movement is now from 8am – 5pm until further notice.

“Residents of Maiduguri are advised to continue with their normal activities within the stipulated period and also continue to monitor the media for updates,” the statement read.

Recall that in the last three years, Maiduguri has been observing a dusk to dawn curfew from 7pm to 6am daily in the last three years.
