Armed bandits kidnap 4 people, loot shops in Alkaleri LG

Armed bandits have kidnapped four people and looted shops in Gyali Village, in Mansur District of Alkaleri LGA, Bauchi State.
The Bauchi state police command which confirmed the incident through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil on Sunday, said a large number of bandits through Yankari Game Reserve, invaded Gyali village and ransacked five local provision stores.
“On the 20th, July 2025, at about 15.00 hours, that is (Sunday), the Command received an information from Mansur Outstation through the Village Head of Gyali via Mansur.” CSP Wakil further disclosed.
According to him, the bandits made away with four people who are the owners of the shops namely Tasiu Malam Yahaya, 32 years old, Hakilu Ubayo, 15 years old, Abdul Aziz Suleiman, 28 years old, and Rabiu Ganjua, 16 years old, all of Gyali, to unknown place.

The PPRO said on receiving the information, the Commissioner of Police, Banchi State Police Command, Sani Omolori-Aliyu, instructed D.P.O. of Alkaleri, to lead a patrol team to the scene of the incident that had other relevant security agencies, such as the vigilante group and the hunters group.
“Presently, the area is calmed, but our operatives are still combing the bushes to see if they could be able to rescue the people that were being kidnapped and possibly effect their rescue. We are waiting for a response, and possibly arrest the perpetrators of these dastardly act,” he added
Ahmed Mohammed Wakil assured that the Command, under CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, is not relenting on its oars and is putting some sort of necessary valve to checkmate the excesses of these crimes and criminality of kidnapping in the area.
The PPRO who assured that calmness has been restored in the affected community and people are going about their lawful businesses, maintained that the operatives that the operatives are currently in the area, combing the bush to arrest the culprits.
