Ariaria APGA members decamp to PDP

More than 200 members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have declared for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP.Speaking during the occasion that held at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia recently,

the Aba North APGA chairmanship candidate in the last general election in the state, Deacon Vincent Ogbonna, who also led numerous APGA candidates in that general election in the state, said they were coming back to PDP to work for the party with their mind.

He pledged to support and drummed up support for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, come his 2019 re-election bid.

Also speaking, another decampee and the former Aba North Coordinator for the APGA governorship candidate, Alex Otti Campaign Organisation, Emma Agu noted that

as a governor, Sen. Theodore Orji left a legacy that is unparalleled in history of the state by enthroning equity, stating that Governor Ikpeazu was also doing his best in the state, especially in Aba, pointing out that it as this that made them to come back to the party they built.

He assured that all APGA members in Ariaria Aba will come back into PDP, stating, “I am happy to come back and I am coming back with my full weight. I and my members are coming back with our mind”.

He urged the state party chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, to work with them as they will give him 100% service.

Earlier in his speech, the immediate past state Commissioner for Agriculture and now Commissioner Nominee, Uzor Azubuike, who introduced the decampees, described them as returnees, people who were in the PDP before they left and now felt “they would not leave or destroy the house they hey built”.

He said that the PDP lost serially at the last general elections in Aba North was as a result of the activities of the returnees, stating that he was “bringing back the real people”.

Responding, the PDP state chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, described the party as a big umbrella that believes in equity and also a party based on God, stating “the hope of our people is on PDP and if you abandon it for another, you are losing”.

He described the returnees as not new entrants, but old members of the party, pointing out that peace has taken over in PDP “and there are no trouble makers” in the party.

Flags of the PDP were handed over to the returnees.
