Argungu Fishing Festival pre-event activities commences in Abuja
The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival has formally commenced as pre-event activities have been launched in Abuja.
An Open Day program to be aired live on NTA which will feature cultural dances, speeches, press briefings and display branded cars to highlight motor rally activities has just began at the Arena of the NTA.
Cultural troupes from Kebbi and other participating states have been slated for performance display as many important personalities are expected to grace the occasion.
The Deputy Governor of Kebbi state Senator Umar Abubakar who leads a powerful Kebbi state government, Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional rulers and other invited guests are on ground for the launching of the National sensitization program.
The Kebbi state Commissioner of Information and. Culture Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK told journalists yesterday that the pre-event program had a history of taking place each edition, adding that the NTA has always been a critical partner giving the historical Argungu Fishing Festival the desired support and cooperation.
He said with the hosting of the Open Day ceremony, the Festival has been kick started. Visitations to stakeholders at all levels, the Commissioner stated, will continue across the country in order to keep it on the front burner in the build up to the main event slated to start on February 11, 2026.
