Archbishop Kaigama condoles with victims’ families

Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama, the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampede at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, which claimed the lives of 10 people, including children, during a palliative distribution event on Saturday.
In a statement on Sunday, Archbishop Kaigama extended condolences to the families of the deceased, describing the tragedy as “a devastating blow” to the parish and the church.
He commended the charity efforts of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, organizers of the event, and reaffirmed the Church’s dedication to serving the poor and vulnerable.

“Let us come together as a community to pray for the souls of the departed, the healing of the injured, and the consolation of all those affected by this tragedy,” Kaigama urged.
