APC Youth Leader Under Fire for Alleged Anti-Party Activities

A youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 1, GRA, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Richie Ekhorutomwen is under fire from the party leadership for alleged anti-party activities.
Sources allege that Richie betrayed the trust of party leaders by leaking strategic discussions held during a meeting with stakeholders, including a former goveenor of the state, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on July 19, 2020. The meeting, which included a former governor of Edo State, was reportedly centered on preparations for the September governorship election.
It was further alleged that Richie disclosed sensitive plans to opposition leaders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that angered APC members.
Insiders claim that during the meeting, a controversial decision was made to deploy political thugs to rig the election in favor of the APC, Richie reportedly opposed the resolution on principle.
Two days later, unidentified assailants allegedly targeted Richie at his residence, where they fatally shot his stepbrother dead.
Attempts to reach Richie for comments were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the Edo State Police Command has yet to issue a statement on the incident.
