APC will bring back ex- SSG to its fold, says Nwachukwu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has said it is making serious efforts to bring back the former secretary to Ebonyi state Government, Prof. Benard Odoh, back into the party which he left in 2014.
Odoh recently resigned his appointment but the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi said during a solidarity visit by Odoh’s kinsmen that he was sacked as he published his letter accusing Umahi of maladministration, nepotism and poor treatment of workers.
Acting Chairman of the APC in Ebonyi State, Mr. Eze Nwachukwu said that the party was desirous of bringing Odoh back, as one of the foundational members of the party.
“Odoh was one of our foundational members and when the party was formed in 2014, he personally donated N500, 000 for its smooth take-off in Ebonyi State”, Nwachukwu said.
He noted that it would take a man with the orientation of the APC to challenge the governor’s policies and stand for the truth and for the citizens, adding “he unfortunately left the APC in 2014 for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to contest for a senatorial position and we do not know the reasons for his defection”.
“We are assuring him that the circumstances which led to his departure from APC have been eliminated by my leadership as Umahi being a PDP governor, made his appointment the first on assumption office to show his capability”.
Nwachukwu noted that the APC was urging other progressives still in Umahi’s government to emulate him and resign, in order to salvage the state.
All efforts made to contact Odoh by our Correspondent, to confirm if he is being approached by the APC as rumoured, proved abortive as he was said to have traveled abroad.
