APC suspends commissioner in Niger for anti-party activities

The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Paikoro Local Government of Niger state has suspended the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Amina Musa Gua’ar for anti-party activities.

According to the party, the decision to suspend the commissioner from the party was taken in the public interest.

It was gathered that the party’s local working committee on March 18 had through a letter invited the now suspended commissioner to answer queries, an invitation she declined which led to her subsequent suspension on March 22.

The suspension letter reads: “In reference to a letter dated March 18, 2019, the local government executive working committee of the APC in Paikoro has resolved to utilize Article 21, Section A, sub-section 111 of the constitution as amended.

“This is due to your refusal/disobedience to abide by the party’s directive within the stipulated time frame. Sequel to this, I hereby notify you of your suspension from the party until further notice.”

The letter which was signed by the party Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Kwana made available to newsmen in Minna at the weekend.
