APC Stakeholders in Bauchi’s Zaki LGA Reject Congress Outcome, Demand Fresh Process

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zaki Local Government Area of Bauchi State have rejected the outcome of the recently concluded Wards and Local Government Congresses, alleging that the process was not conducted in line with the party’s guidelines.
Addressing journalists, the stakeholders, led by Comr. Mustapha Dalailu Katagum, called for the cancellation of the outcome and a restart of the process.
They cited several concerns, including the violation of congress guidelines, absence of key aspirants, and political imbalance.
The stakeholders claimed that the congress was held at an aspirant’s house in Bauchi, rather than the party secretariat, and that key chairmanship aspirants were not present.
They also alleged that the Katagum district had monopolized power, ignoring other districts.
The party stakeholders emphasized that the APC in Zaki LGA faces dire challenges, including a disconnect between the leadership and grassroots electorate, and a lack of youth involvement in decision-making processes.
They warned that these issues have contributed to the party’s electoral failures in 2019 and 2023.
The stakeholders urged the state and national party leadership to intervene, declaring the congress invalid and ordering a fresh process.
They called on members and citizens to unite against leadership that disregards its members, particularly youths
