APC, PDP are failures, says APDA
*As SDP members join new party

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been described as parties of failure that cannot take Nigerians out of the wood despite holding power to make the need change and development.
The National Vice Chairman of the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), Mr. Akin Akinbobola, said this on Tuesday in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Mr. Akinbobola explained that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed the Nigerian masses despite its change mantra and anti corruption crusade.
“The ruling All Progressives Congress has only come to deceive Nigerians with their fake anti corruption crusade.
“They (APC) are even worse than the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which they claim to fight in corruption” he said.
Akinbobola also maintained that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which claimed to be fighting corruption is now a safe haven for some corrupt moneybags who were formally in PDP.
He argued that there is no difference between the two political parties of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
“So, we are not going to have a better government because they are the same persons”, Mr. Akinbobola added.
According to him, the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) which is a new breed would be willing to provide a credible alternative for the people.
Earlier, Dele Ogunbamerun, the Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State had led not less than eleven of the twenty state executive members of the party to opposition APDA.
Mr. Ogunbamerun who also spoke on behalf the defectors added that no fewer than three thousand members of SDP in the state would also be joining the party from the 18 local government areas.
He noted that they decided to pitch their tents with the new party (APDA) because the Social Democratic Party had failed in its Democratic principles.
He disclosed that the Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance which is gradually building its structures across the Local Government Areas of the state is a party with true social democrat and ideology.
“Our coming to the party which is relatively new in existence is therefore to strengthen this real social democratic principle that does not exist in all other existing political parties” he explained.
Banji Akinkuowo, the state Chairman of APDA said all the new defectors would be fully integrated into the party with an assurance of equal opportunities.
Mr. Akinkuowo who said APDA is a party with progressively minded individuals who are really ready to lead selflessly and take over the reign of power.
“The APDA is a party built on ideology of progressivism and this is embedded in the constitution of the party. This is the party to take Ondo State and Nigeria to the promised land”.
He added that the APC led government in Ondo state has lost focus in direction and with nothing to offer the citizens who clamoured for change and decided to vote for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Reacting, the Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya described the handlers of the new APDA has political jesters who are looking for cheap gains and popularity.
Adesanya took a swipe at the leaders of the Advance Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA) and said the new party is weak and should not compete of taking over from the ruling APC.
