APC guber ticket: Oshiomhole calls Govs Rochas, Amosun emperors

…Says they are feudal leaders
Ahead of the 2019 general election and its governorship tickets, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has exploded on governors of Imo, Rochas Okorocha and his Ogun state counterpart, Ibikunle Amosun, describing them as ’emperors’ who are feudal leaders.

Oshiomhole, who described Governor Rochas Okorocha as an “embarrassment” to the party also said that he will not help the Imo state governor to build a political dynasty in the South-east region.

In a press conference on Friday in Abuja at his private office, Aso Drive, the National Chairman, Oshiomhole reacted to some of the comments recently made by the two governors as a result of outcome of the governorship primaries in their respective states accusing them, (governors Amosun and Okorocha) of imposition in their states.

In Imo state, Oshiomhole revealed that that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party which he leads met and have upheld the result of the Gulak committee and “we have prepared the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma to be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”.

“If governor Rochas chose to relocate to the Villa and use the ground to intimidate me by creating a dynasty, I will even on one leg but powered by the truth uphold the best interest of APC members and indeed of APC people in Imo state”.

On Amosun, he said the governor went against the primary process revealing that Amosun called him (Oshiomhole), telling him that he was going to adopt consensus option but he rejected it, and insisted on direct primary.

“Governor Amosun decided that he and his preferred aspirant will not participate in the primaries organized by the NWC and tried to withdraw the security that was necessary for the primary panel.

At a stakeholders’ meeting, governor Amosun decided to introduce the third element which didn’t feature in the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC), announced that Ogun state was going to adopt consensus and he proceeded to define what in his view constitute consensus.

“He announced somebody as the consensus governor, announced another as the deputy governor, proclaiming himself as the next Senator and he said the current serving senator, Tejuoso should step aside.

“The governor also announced that the second senator also from Ogun state will step aside while another man will come in, announcing another man who will be the next speaker, and another the next deputy speaker.

He also pronounced that of the eight House of Representatives members, seven will not return according to him, only one will return. All these he claimed are consensus.

“The governor however decided in his wisdom to conduct its own self help, in what he called his own primary where the Secretary to Ogun state government became the Chief Returning Officer”.

Oshiomhole however, assured Nigerians that his party, the APC will defeat the candidate of the main opposition People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the next year presidential election adding: “We will defeat Atiku the way we have defeated him before”.
