APC Assures Osun Workers of Better Days Ahead

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has called on the state Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and civil servants to exercise patience over the current economic crisis in the state because relief is very near.

Civil servants in the state are being owed five-month salary.

According to the party, the new APC Federal Government would look into the Federal Allocation to the states to reduce months of unpaid salaries, as soon as the new government is sworn in on May 29, 2015.

A press statement released in Osogbo on Wednesday by the Director of Publicity for the party, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, added that “The long and difficult battle to defeat the forces of evil that have squandered the nation’s wealth has just ‎been won.

“This is a pleasant transition moment that requires sober, intelligent and calculating responses from all stakeholders in the State of Osun, so that we do not turn victory into sorrow by engaging in actions that will create more problems than solutions”, he added.

The APC admitted that it was stressful to celebrate in a situation of crisis, but also posited that “to create further crisis within a ‘crisis’ is not the wisest thing to do.”

The party, therefore, “called on all stakeholders in the crisis to give peace a chance so that Osun will return to the glorious days when the Aregbesola-led APC government paid salaries promptly and effected development on a scale never before seen in the state”.
