ANSG unveils free buses for Christmas transit services
Anambra State Government has provided 11 luxury buses to offer free mass transit services to Ndi Anambra during upcoming Yuletide season.
Announcing this to newsmen in her office, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Transport Company of Anambra State (TRACAS), Dr. Ify Madukasi, said the buses would ply designated routes within the state.
According to her, the free transportation services will take effect from December 1 to January 5, 2020 in all designated routes, especially the densely populated zones.
“Governor Willie Obiano in his usual magnanimity is declaring free transportation services to Ndi Anambra this Christmas season. As you all know that it is a season of joy, happiness and celebration,’’ Mrs. Madukasi said.
The TRACAS boss added that Governor Obiano in his wisdom considered it proper to lessen the burden associated with hike in transportation services on commuters during festive seasons.
She identified some designated routes to include Awka to Onitsha by Old Road; Awka to Onitsha by Expressway to Upper Iweka; Awka to Otuocha by Aguleri, Onitsha to Ihiala
Other routes are Onitsha to Ogbaru by LGA Secretariat; Awka to Nnewi by Nkwo triangle; Awka to Oko and Ekwulobia to Onitsha among others.
She, then, praised the government for its massive road infrastructure maintenance within the state as well as adequate security network through “Operation Kpochapu’’, to guarantee safety of life and property.
