Anosike decries revival mentality, donates N10 million for Anambra idea hub

The Publisher of Daily Times Newspaper, Mr Fidelis Anosike has decried a revival mentality exhibited among the current generation but stressed the need for collective efforts towards developing Anambra state.
According to him, people of this generation are yet to build any structure that would benefit the future generation, instead, they are busy reviving the works of their forefathers.
Anosike thus challenged the participants of the first edition of Anambra ICT Summit to bring to reality creative and innovating ideas by donating a whopping N10 million for the kick off of the ICT hub in Anambra State
The ICT hub billed to be completed in the next six months, was the resolution of the maiden edition of 2017 Anambra ICT Summit, held in Awka on Friday.
The first edition of Anambra ICT Summit was attended by many ICT executives who are Anambra indigenes resident in other parts of the country especially Lagos and Abuja, Secondary school and tertiary institution students as well as private individuals.
The event was organized by the Oliswarren Associates Limited in collaboration with the ABS to expose the state youths on wide opportunities abound in ICT especially for them and the future generation.
In his speech, a software Analyst, Mr Pius OkIgbo – Junior, who spoke on Artificial Intelligence said the software has created a lot of jobs for young people and recommended an organized means of training four thousand youths within two years to domesticate ICT in Anambra as according to him, Ndi Anambra have been excelling in software invention and expertise all over the world.
He noted that an ICT hub in the state would enable youths to harness their potentials in ICT.
Also speaking at the event, other resource persons Mr Gerald Ilukwe and Uche Onwuamaegbu- Ugwu, maintained that Anambra has intellectual capital and experience but pointed out the need for policy based partnership between public and private sectors.
They called for vocational education, creative thinking at early stages in life and the need to produce employable and entrepreneurial graduates, calling on the government to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM.
Earlier in a welcome speech, the sponsor of the programme Mr Olisa Aniuno of the Oliswarren Associates, said that Anambra has excelled in many areas except in establishment of an ICT hub even when they are behind the success stories on ICT and announced that the process of establishing park has begun.
Other speakers Messrs Paschal Okeke, who spoke on “building a career on software development,” Jerry Guma on “opportunities in the digital world” and Emeka Okeke who spoke on” the blogprenuer,” revealed to the participants the multiple opportunities in ICT and encouraged all to assess such platforms.
In a vote of thanks, a member of the Board of Trustees ABS, Mr Marcel Manafa said the resource persons are ICT gurus carefully selected to talk to the audience ,adding that the report of the Summit will be a road map towards digitizing Anambra.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS ,Nze Uche Nwora noted that the programme was in line with Governor Obiano’s zeal to face out analogue practices and expose the citizens to the world class means of doing e -business for optimal result, adding that if China can make billions of dollars through exportation of software, Nigeria can make much money beyond oil export.
