Anioma Cultural Festival Stakeholders’ Meeting Holds April 1

Events lined up for the 2017 edition of Anioma Cultural Festival organised by Organisation for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC), starts with a crucial meeting of the board and stakeholders of the orgnisation scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State capital on Friday and Satuday March 31 and April 1 .
According the President of OFAAC, Arch. Kester Ifeadi, attendees would, at the meeting, take final decisions on the form and shape the festival, which will take place in the open field of Anglican Girls’ Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba, would take.
In its 11 edition, the festival is a cultural showpiece that features groups from the nine local government areas that make up Delta North popularly known as Anioma (good land).
Aside the festival which holds every Easter Monday, OFAAC also reaches out to the people through its micro credit scheme, community service annual lecture that has featured personalities like former Head of Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, former … Phillip Asiodu, Chief Fotune Ebie among others as guest speakers.
OFAAC was set up with the primary objective of preseving and advncing the culture of the Anioma people, foster unity among the people, promote the use of ‘akwa ocha’ the traditionl attire of the Anioma people, create Anioma consciousness and identity in the people amongst others.
This, Ifeadi said OFAAC has achieved in the last 15 years of its existence.
