Anambra attracts medical and mental hospital

Governor Willie Obiano has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the League Medical and Mental Health Hospital, in the state.
The foundation stone was laid at the project site at Okoti Odekpe, Ogbaru Council Area.
Performing the ground breaking ceremony, Chief Obiano said the ultra modern hospital would be fully funded by the Catholic League in the United States of America.
Governor Obiano noted that the project which would commence in earnest would create direct and indirect employment opportunities for youths in the community, and when completed would drastically reduce unemployment rate in the state.
The Governor stressed that health was part of his economic enablers and his administration would not relent in providing adequate infrastructure, training and retraining of doctors and nurses as well as promoting their welfare.
The Secretary of the Catholic League, Rev Fr Frank Agraz, said the project was designed by a professional to meet western style of hospital project.
Rev Fr Agraz maintained that the Catholic League Hospital would among other things handle the needs of the poor in the community and beyond.
In his reaction, the Chaplain of the League, Rev Fr John Ugobueze, said they were attracted to invest in Anambra due to the security in the state, saying that Anambra remained the safest state in the country.
Fr Ugobueze noted that the league was made up of many professional in different medical field of studies, geared towards providing professional services to the people.
The Chaplain commended the governor for his zeal in promoting health care services, pleading for additional hecters of land to enable them expand their desired plans.
