An Exclusive Interview With The Charming Jon Paramore
Jon Paramore is a leading business coach who does not like to mince words. In this interview, he tells us how he perceives aspects that go into building a business.
How do you perceive failure?
Failure is a part of every process. It’s a part of life. Life has evolved into its current form with constant trial and error.
But you don’t see the planet trying to pull its hair out because of the time it took to bring about so many forms of life, right? Then why do we?
As human beings, we put so much importance on success that we forget failure shadows success, and vice-versa.
I see failure as a chance to introspect and analyze choices. So, I tell people to define their failure and let their success define them.
How are chaos and business connected?
Chaos is when confusion, fear, and doubt decide to visit you at the same time to have a party inside your head. And business is full of these aspects. Chaos and business are almost as connected as success and failure.
And the defining characteristic of all successful businesses is how they deal with chaos. As a business learns to deal with chaos, it also develops the tools to keep it at bay.
Can you tell us about your book?
A. Sure. My book titled Fail Your Ass Off: A Loser’s Guide to Winning is meant for anyone who wants to succeed, but dreads failure.
The purpose of the book is to reveal an entrepreneur’s mindset to the readers, so that they can become practical about their approach, strategies, and expectations.
It’s not a cushion for battered souls, but a wake-up call for people who are driven but unable to deal with failure.
What is your approach to helping others?
A. I choose to be honest with myself and those I mentor. Honesty is one’s ability to see things as they are.
It’s an ability to not mix categories. These steps help one gauge the health of one’s business.
Unverified assumptions are but another form of dishonesty, and as far as I can see, dishonesty can only take you so far for so long.
Jon Paramore’s no-nonsense approach towards failure, chaos, success, and honesty will appeal to those who value their time and hope to grow in their character as individuals and as entrepreneurs.
