AMPLIFY AFRICA set to kick off internship and mentoring initiative

Amplify Africa

Amplify Africa, has shared its plans to kick off a yearly internship and mentoring program starting May this year. Amplify Africa is an arts, entertainment and media company, whose main objective is showcasing African artistes, the excellence of Africa, Africans, and Africa in diaspora.

Founded by Damilare Kujembola & Timi Adeyeba in 2015, Amplify Africa is responsible for events like Afrolituation, Afro Music Festival, Afro Ball & Made in Africa (the biggest annual African concert in North America).

Starting May 2021 Amplify Africa will begin a yearly mentoring program designed to help young men and women who are interested in leadership, event planning and artiste management.

Damilare Kujembola, the CEO of Amplify Africa said the program, was slated to begin in May 2020, but was delayed and put on hold due to the covid-19 pandemic lockdown and restrictions.

“Given the state of rising infections and hospitalizations caused by the pandemic it would be morally wrong to kick off the program without proper safety protocols in place” he said.

He further stated that they considered doing the program remotely online, but then it would defeat the in person purpose of the program.

He pointed out that with internships and mentorship initiatives, mentees are often required to shadow their mentors so it is more practical to do it in person rather than virtually.

The program will be free for individuals in both high school and undergraduate college irrespective of their orientations or origin.
