Ambassador calls for mutual devt from China-Congo cooperation

Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Congo, Ma Fulin, says China is ready to cooperate with the Republic of Congo and other African nations in efforts to achieve common development and jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity.

“The lasting cooperation between China and the Republic of Congo primarily lies in mutual political trust.

“The two countries have been maintaining close high-level exchanges since forging diplomatic ties and in 2016, the two sides decided to upgrade the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.

“The Republic of Congo has been exploring a development path befitting its national conditions and highly recognises China’s development path, which enables the two nations continue deepening their cooperation in various fields,’’ said Ma.

According to him, China and the Republic of Congo enjoy strong economic complementarities, and that both countries have a vision and needs for common development.

“The Republic of Congo has been cooperating closely with China and seen a number of projects completed in the country, such as China-Congo Friendship Hospital and No.1 National Road,’’ Ma said.

He also mentioned that the Sino-Congolese Bank for Africa (BSCA), a co-funded bank established by China and the Republic of Congo, is called “Congolese people’s own commercial bank” locally.

Ma stressed that China-Congo cooperation, which sticked to the principles of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith in China’s African policy, was an important part of China-Africa cooperation.

He added that the target of cooperation between China and Africa was to realise common development and build new patterns of international relationship,as well as a community with a shared future for humanity.

“China does not interfere with other nation’s internal affairs and aims to achieve mutual respect in cooperation.

“Meanwhile, China also focuses on the need of African nations in their respective development agenda,’’ he said.

Ma also expressed his belief that the upcoming summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, to be held in Beijing in September, will inject new impetus for future cooperation between China and Africa. (Xinhua/NAN)
