Alma Asinobi to Tour Seven Continents, Spotlight Passport Privilege

Nigerian travel content creator Alma Asinobi has announced her ambitious plan to visit all seven continents in a bid to set a world record. Her journey, set to begin on March 15, 2025, will kick off in Australia and conclude in Nigeria.

Asinobi is undertaking this challenge using her Nigerian passport to shed light on the global issue of passport privilege and the restrictions faced by citizens of low-mobility countries. In a viral Instagram video, she expressed her frustration over the visa application process, revealing that she had to apply for more than 10 visas and faced multiple rejections.
“I’m doing this with a Nigerian passport to highlight the issue of passport privilege. After recovering from the stress of applying for over 10 visas—and being rejected five times—I will speak more about why we cannot stay silent about the second-class treatment we face regarding travel and visa requirements,” she said.
She emphasized that her journey is not only about setting a record but also about inspiring Africans to explore the world despite the limitations imposed on them.
The current Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all continents stands at three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds, set by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra. Asinobi’s attempt is expected to spark global conversations about the challenges faced by travelers from countries with weaker passports.
