Alia dissolves Benue executive council, appoints Moses Atagher as chief of staff

Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has dissolved the state’s executive council, relieving all commissioners of their appointments.

The announcement was made on Wednesday after the 12th executive council meeting. In a statement issued in Makurdi, Tersoo Kula, chief press secretary to the governor, confirmed the dissolution.

In a related development, Moses Atagher, former attorney-general and commissioner for justice in the state, has been appointed as the new chief of staff.

The governor’s office clarified that the cabinet shake-up affects only the commissioners. The appointment of Atagher is a new addition to Alia’s administrative structure.

Alia acknowledged the efforts of the outgoing cabinet members and urged those not returning to continue contributing to the party and the development of the state.
