Ajimobi Will Meet His Political Waterloo On April 11 – Oyo LP
The Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State has described last Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections in the state as a farce and could not be regarded as a true representation of the people’s will.
The party in a press statement signed by its spokesman, Alhaj Razaq Folorunso dismissed the emotional and irrational thought of the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) that the ruling party and its governorship candidate, Senator Abiola Ajimobi are in the good books of the people.
The LP said this euphoria will only lead to a political waterloo come April 11th, as the people will speak with one voice and Ajimobi packing out of the Agodi Government House by May 29th this year.
The LP expressed confidence of Oyo State people’s consciousness; adding that it will be an error for the ruling party in the state to undermine the love people have for Otunba Alao-Akala by contemplating a bandwagon effect.
It appealed to the people of Oyo State not to relent in their efforts to reposition the state through the election of a credible and tested candidate, Alao’Akala, who it said has promised to run a government with human face.
The LP reminded the people of Oyo State that the second coming of the present administration of Ajimobi would bring more hardship in terms of heavy taxation and capital flight, a phenomenon that has been the trademark of the inept government of Ajimobi.
“The party added that the people of Oyo State cannot forget in a hurry how Ajimobi laid off innocent workers, took away meals from the tables of thousands of families by demolishing their shops and rendered thousands homeless by callously demolishing their houses”.
“An Akala government, the party stressed, will correct these anomalies within a short period and bring sanity into the economy by repositioning the LGAs and ensured the public funds are used to better the lots of the good people of Oyo State”.
