Air Peace Seals Emirates Pact for Seamless London, Global Connections
Air Peace and Emirates have entered into a landmark bilateral interline agreement that allows passengers to book single-ticket journeys across both airlines, linking Nigerian and wider West and Central African cities directly to Dubai, London, and other international destinations.
Announced on Monday, the deal integrates schedules and enables through-checked baggage, eliminating the need for passengers to recheck luggage when connecting between the two carriers.
It expands Emirates’ reach beyond the 13 Nigerian cities already served on Air Peace’s network to include Banjul in Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan, as well as Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia via Accra.
Conversely, Air Peace passengers gain access to Emirates’ Dubai hub and onward connections to London Heathrow, Gatwick, and Stansted, among other global gateways. Emirates described the agreement as a major step in strengthening air connectivity between Africa, the UAE, and Europe, while Air Peace emphasised its alignment with the airline’s mission to improve Africa’s access to global markets.
The partnership comes just over a year after Emirates resumed flights to Nigeria following a two-year suspension linked to trapped funds and foreign exchange challenges. It also builds on Air Peace’s disruptive entry into the Lagos–London corridor in March 2024, which expanded to Gatwick and later connected passengers from multiple Nigerian cities, including Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, and Umueri.
Tickets under the interline agreement are available via emirates.com, flyairpeace.com, and accredited travel agents, offering passengers greater convenience and flexibility in planning multi-city itineraries under one booking.
Industry observers say the deal underscores Nigeria’s growing aviation influence, with Air Peace leveraging its regional dominance to connect Africa’s markets to Emirates’ global network, while reinforcing Lagos as a strategic hub for international travel.
