Ahead NEC meeting, PDP governors meet today

Elected governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold an emergency meeting today in Abuja.
Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Hon. Cyril Maduabum in a statement said the meeting was called by the Forum’s chairman and governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziti Tambuwal after due consultation with his colleagues will discuss mainly issues affecting the major opposition party.
“The meeting will discuss party matters and strategies to reposition the PDP ahead of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the Party taking place tomorrow, 9th September, 2021”, the statement indicated.
According to the Director General, the PDP Governors re-assured all members, stakeholders and the nation of their commitment, determination and loyalty in the patriotic task of dislodging the APC government “that has brought nothing but misery and pain to all Nigerians”.
Today’s meeting is coming ahead of Thursday 93rd Meeting of the PDP National Exercise Committee (NEC).
Before the commencing tomorrow’s NEC meeting, the party is expected to inaugurate the National Campaign Council for the Anambra governorship election to be headed by the Abia State governor,Victor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Recall that the inauguration which ought to have been held on Monday was shifted to Thursday due to the absence of PDP governors who were in Jos for a national security meeting with other stakeholders.
