Agba vows to end Rangers title drought

Enugu Rangers attacker, Samuel Agba, is elated after scoring his first goal of the season, though his team lost 2-3 away to Taraba in Jalingo in the Premier League game last Sunday.

Agba, who joined Rangers from Kaduna United during the mid-season transfer window last season, hopes he can score more goals to lead Rangers to the title, despite the loss to Taraba.

Rangers are yet to win any trophies since 1984.

Abel Bobby put Taraba ahead in the game before Pierre Coly equalised for Rangers.

Malik and Nura Mohammed added a goal each for the home side before Agba came off the bench to score for Rangers again.

“I’m happy I scored but sad we lost the game at the same time,”Agba said.

“It was a tough game for us, but we have proved we can score goals away which shows an improvement from last season.

“I hope to score more goals for Rangers this season so as to attract the national team handlers. I want to play for the national team,” said the player who is easily remembered for his lightning speed goal against Sunshine Stars in Akure last season.
