A teenage boy, Ejiofor Stephen Mayor has been declared wanted for his role in the activities of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra , MASSOB.
This came after he was found to be playing an informant role for the group which is pushing for an independent nation from Nigeria.
An affidavit sworn to by his elder brother, Mr. Ejiofor Emeka Douglas confirmed the development.
In the affidavit sworn to at the Enugu State High Court, Mr. Douglas deposed that his brother “was about 11 to 15 years old when he joined the MASSOB movement (known as Biafra Agitation) around the year 1997/2000 as the key informant.”
He said the teenager would move around to spy and gather information for the organization/group “which entails telling the group members whereabouts of the Nigeria armed forces checkpoints which will lead to deadly attacks from the group against the armed forces.

“That as a little young boy who does not know what he was doing as of then, he would carry out the tasks given to him effectively not knowing of the implication.
“That he was first declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force on 10th November, 1997 and also declared wanted again on 10th November 2000 after series of attacks linked to the group.
“This is because of the vital role he played and damages on so many lives and properties, particularly in Enugu State and some other parts of Nigeria.
“That before the year 2000, Nigeria forces were threatening to capture him but met his absence since he had run to one African Country.
“The Nigeria Arm Forces having visiting our resident in the village searching for him but he was nowhere to be found, thus, they resorted to torture me and some of my cousins when we told them that he has ran to one of the African Countries with some of his group members.”
He further disposed in the affidavit that his brother later escaped to Europe owing to continuous threat against his freedom.
Meanwhile, a police bulletin obtained by our correspondent also showed that the teenager was declared wanted alongside five other MASSOB members by the Enugu State Police Command.
The notice urged the members of the public to report them to the nearest police station anywhere they were sighted.
