Afrobeats singer and songwriter Twicy has been nominated for seven awards at the Central Music Awards in Ghana. The CMA known as the largest regional award in Ghana, recently announced the nominations for the 2024 edition with Twicy receiving nods for his debut album “Far Away” and hit singles “Lotto” and Live it Up”
“It feels great to be recognized for my hard work,” the artist said in a statement to Daily Times.
I’d like to thank to Central Music Awards for the honour. Also, a big shoutout to my team and the fans for believing in me.
“Far Away” is up for Best EP/Album of the Year while “Live it Up” was nominated for Afropop Song of the Year and Song of the Year Awards.
In addition, the “Lotto” video which has been receiving strong airplay on top TV stations in Nigeria and Ghana, was nominated in the Music Video of the Year category.
And as a testament to his strong songwriting abilities, the 26-year-old received a nod in the Songwriter of the Year category.
The nominations come as Twicy rounded up a successful media tour in Nigeria which saw him stop over at Beat FM, SoundCity FM Silverbird TV and other top media houses in the country where he has a growing fanbase.
