African freestyle soccer tournament debuts in Nigeria

Freestyle football is very popular in North America. However, it is taking its roots within other continents especially in Africa.

The first-ever freestyle soccer tournament was held in Nigeria. The tournament so over 20 countries participate in the event.

The three-day event saw the countries try and contend for the top prize. It was held at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.

With football betting in Nigeria becoming more popular than ever, it is no surprise that we are seeing an increase in soccer tournaments across the nation as well.

The Nigerian Super Eagles put up a decent showing in the World Cup, and it seems that Nigerians only love more of soccer action.

African Freestyle Football Championship 2018 was the first of its kind andwas organized by Feet ‘n Tricks International.

So, how did the championship happen? If you have been looking for a freestyle championship that aims to identify raw talent who can make it big, you would love this event.

Abdou Kader Kone of Cote d’Ivoire was the first ever champion of the tournament. He finished ahead of all other competitors and got to walk away with $3,000 prize money. Moreover, he also got a brand new salon car by GAC motors.

Kone will have the chance to showcase his skills in England. He will get to perform during the Premier League’s halftime.

Kone’s mad skills had fanned out if their seats. He got to defeat the famous Yousef Ayman Reiesco of Egypt who was his biggest competitor. Actually,Reiesco was seemed to be the winner as they walked into the finals. Unfortunately, he failed to “up” his skills when they were needed the most.

The Ivorian took advantage and showed his best trick for last. Reiesco had exhausted his moved during the quarter and semifinals.
However, Risco did not get to walk away empty-handed. He pocketed $2,000. The third winner was Abdullah Emad who got $1,000 while South African Ashley Mkhize pocketed $500.

On the other hand, the host country failed to even get through the quarterfinals. Their biggest pride RasheedatAjibade won the female version of the freestyle event.

The event showcased a lot of entertainment. Top artists like Falz and Reekardo Banks brought the “house” down.

Africans had a good chance to interact with and share a common platform to showcase their freestyle skills. Fans who never got the chance to attend the event were lucky enough because it was aired on Startimes across Africa.

The live broadcast gave subscribers an opportunity to be part of the first ever African Freestyle Football Championship. It was broadcasted live on StarTimes mobile app and on ST Sports Focus Channel 240/250.

The chairman of Feet ‘n Tricks Valentino Ozigbo commended that the event as a huge success.
