Afreximbank holds AGM, 25th anniversary in Abuja

The 25th Anniversary and Annual General Meetings (AAGM) of the African Export lmport Bank (AFREXIMBANK) will begin tomorrow at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The meetings are open to banking, Trade and Trade Finance practitioners as well as other stakeholders involved in economic development from across Africa and beyond.
The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, will lead Nigerian team and Government to host the Investment Forum and Trade Exhibition during meetings.
Besides, individuals who played key roles in the establishment and development of the bank are being expected to grace the events.
Meanwhile, Afreximbank has lined up a series of musical and other entertainment activities for guests, including performances by some of Africa’s best known artistes. Nigeria Afropop star, Davido and the San Vincente Carnival Troupe from Cape Verde are among confirmed performers.
The event will be concluded on July 14 with the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of the Bank.
African Export-lmport Bank (Afreximbank) is the foremost pan-African multilateral financial institution devoted to financing and promoting intra and extra – African trade.
The bank was established in October 1993 by African Governments, African private and institutional investors, and non-African investors.
The Daily Times recalls that since 1994, the bank has approved more than $51billion in credit facilities for African businesses, including about $10.3 billion in 2016.
