AEC validates global status with ISO 9001:2008 certification

Advanced Engineering Consultants a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and management consultancy has validated its international status by receiving the ISO 9001:2008 certification for global best practices in quality management.

ISO 9001:2008 is a global standard based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement, to ensure that customers get consistent, good quality products and services.

Recently AEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lagos State government for the construction of the proposed mega 4th mainland bridge.

Receiving the certificate from Bureau Veritas Certification in a ceremony at Protea Hotel, Ikeja G.R.A in Lagos, recently, Managing Partner of AEC, Engr Dr. Peter Agunbiade noted that the firm has further validated its membership of the international committee of standard practice in Nigeria and beyond.

“I say a big thank you to all our clients, local and beyond who love and still support us till date they are the reason we are existing today and we assure you that we will remain committed to our creed of exceeding customer satisfaction with unparalleled engineering professionalism,” he said.

Agunbiade disclosed that AEC has attained landmark status through the design and execution of various infrastructural projects covering but not limited to roads, bridges, water and waste water management across the country, but more prominently in Lagos state.

“One of our greatest projects which is still on-going is the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, we had this vision that the transportation business in Nigeria can have a turnaround and we proposed this 10-lane with the light-rail to the government of the day and when they looked at it, they said yes we can buy into this and took it up and LAMATA supported us and today this is a landmark project which everybody is looking forward to.

“And we are proud to say it is the only one of its kind not only in Nigeria but in West Africa and second in the whole of Africa. We are grateful to the government of Lagos and the ministry of works for giving us the chance to prove ourselves,” he said.

In his remarks, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Mr Ganiyu Johnson, represented by a personal assistant Mr Biodun Shahanya, noted that the ministry has sustained its working relationship with AEC due to its past excellent performances

“The ministry has not regretted its relationship with AEC, certainly if a company has not performed I am very sure the ministry wouldn’t have anything to do with it,” he said.

Other distinguished guests at the ceremony included representatives of: The Infrastructure Bank (TIB); leading commercial banks; Julius Berger Nigeria PLC; China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CECECC) among others.
