AEA to host One-Stop-Shop for SMEs, govt agencies in FCT

The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) on Tuesday said it would host a One-Stop-Shop platform for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) to interface with relevant government agencies for easy business establishments.

The Principal Officer, AEA, Mr. Chidi Ezirigwe, said this on the sidelines of a three-day ecosystem development learning initiative to improve entrepreneurship skills among investors and innovators organised by Enspire Incubator, a technology hub in Abuja.

“AEA has been chosen to host the One-Stop-Shop in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“The One-Stop-Shop even though is positioned in the FCT will service anybody from any part of the country.

“The One-Stop-Shop is where you will have the key regulators like National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control and Standard Organisation of Nigeria.

“It will also bring together Federal Inland Revenue Services, Cooperate Affairs Commission, Bank of Industry and a host of government players in the sector.

“There, it will have an office and desk officers who are dedicated to the issues that have to do with SMEs.

“They will be there and you want to register a business you don’t have to go anywhere, you will have your business registered on that platform,” Ezirigwe said.

He said that some entrepreneurs found it difficult accessing government agencies in charge of business establishments in the country, adding that the AEA would ameliorate the challenge.

Ezirigwe said that the programme was expected to hold before the end of the year.

He said that the agency was working to achieve the programme in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment and the office of the Vice President.
