Ado-Odo/Ota LG begins distribution to vulnerable

Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State has begun distribution of relief packages to its 51 Area Community Development Councils (ACDC) to cushion the effects of the lock down in the area.
The Transition Committee Chairman in the Area Council, Alhaji Wasiu Lawal, told newsmen at the Local government in Ota, that the relief stimulus was part of Gov. Dapo Abiodun led-administration initiative to see to the well-being of residents.

He said this was meant for the vulnerable, such as the widows, physically challenged and the aged, saying that each ACDC should get 60 bags each, amounting to 3,500 of relief stimulus.
“Against the insinuations of some people on the social media that two bags are being distributed to a whole ACDC, this is not possible. We have received and distributed the first batch.
”This is a continuous exercise, and another set of people will get in the second phase, which will get across to the unemployed, less privileged and among others,” he said.
The Chairman advised residents to be law abiding, wash their hands regularly, maintain social distance, and above all, “stay in door for this period of lockdown, in order to get rid of the pandemic’’.
Responding, Ajogbo ACDC Chairman, Mr Abiodun Agunbiade, on behalf of other ACDCs, thanked the present administration in Ogun State for rescuing the vulnerable at this crucial period of pandemic that has occasioned the lockdown, praying that God would have mercy on all.
Similarly, Sagamu Local Government Council has embarked on the distribution of relief materials provided by the State Government to the widows, aged and vulnerable in the Area.
Speaking during the distribution, the Chairman Transition Committee in the area, Mr. Gbenga Banjo, said that the government’s gesture was aimed at ameliorating the effect of the lockdown on the masses.
Banjo said that the relief materials were distributed at the door-steps of every household in order to avoid unnecessary anxiety and crowding, a situation which would have negated the directive on social distancing in the war against Covid-19.
