Adamawa to benefit from multi-million naira online research books

Adamawa State government is to benefit from a million online research books for students of its tertiary institutions. This was made known when Adamawa State Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla received a delegation from ICT University Louisiana, at the Governor’s Office, in Yola, the state capital.

Receiving the delegation, Jibrilla said the state would collaborate to enable it benefit from the donation, which would further compliment state government’s effort.

He said he will visit Louisiana to appreciate the honour done to him adding that the state government has intensified effort to change the narrative of the state.

Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Comrade Ahmed Ibrahim Sajo, who gave further details on achievement of the present administration, explained that over 300 roads were Constructed as well as two hundred and sixty two classrooms were renovated.

He said the state university has also commenced the distribution of laptop to its students, which provides the basis for electronic learning for its students adding that the template for E-governance in the state is right for the collaboration.

Leader of the delegation and President of Board of Trustees of the ICT University, Professor Victor Mbarika explained that the ICT University was established and funded by United States Department of Education.

He said the University appreciated the performance of some Auditor from Adamawa who attended seminar leading to intention of the University to make donation to the state government to enable it benefit in the areas of e-learning and e-governance for people of the state.

Also, Professor Victor Mbarika relayed the honour Mayor of Baton Rouge Sharon Weston Broome bestowed on Governor Bindow .

Speaking in the same vein, Professor Adebayo Paul of Nasarawa state University disclosed that other educational institutions in Nigeria are also beneficiaries of the gesture of ICT University.

The collaboration is expected to enable state government take possession of equipment that will provide more than one million books online as well as endure smooth operation of government online.
