The on-going crisis rocking the Adamawa State House of Assembly, has degenerated to setting up of a committee that will investigate the reasons why the faction, led by Hon. Jerry Kundisi, has to shift their loyalty against the faction led by Hon. Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri.
Hon Wilbina Jackson, who was appointed on Thursday to head the investigative committee, during the House plenary sitting, said she would investigate Jerry’s group and ask them why the sudden shift of loyalty against the most respected speaker they have ever had in the house.
According to her, Fintiri, still enjoys the loyalty of majority members of the House and the people of Adamawa State still recognises him as the Speaker of the State Assembly.
“Whatever I find against them, I can’t preempt them now, neither will I say this is exactly what will be done to them or to us, my own job is to write a report and submit it to the House and decide what it should be done to them, I know I will make my own suggestions on the report” Wilbina said.
The lawmaker, who represent the Guyuk constituency of the State Assembly, added that the crisis rocking the House was normal and healthy saying that it shows democracy is working in this country and believes it will turn to good for the people of the state.
She also responded to a question by our correspondent that her defeat during the National Assembly election to represent Guyuk/Shelleng at the red chambers of the House of Representatives was an act of God adding that at the appropriate time she will represent her people at the National Assembly.
She maintained that she had a steadfast loyalty to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and that she can never defect to any party because she could not make it up to the National Assembly, while adding that she will enjoy being a very good opposition woman that will give a constructive criticism which will shape up democracy in the country.
While applauding the good political ideology of President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat for the sake of the country, she, however, admired the kind of dogged spirit of opposition sustained by Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd) to wait for many years for his dreams to come true.
“I think there is much to learn in Buhari kind of principles and ideologies, I know he will make a good leader for this county” she added.
