Activist threatens to sue PDP over Bindow defection rumour

An activist in Adamawa state, Alhaji Musa Usman Shuwa has threatened to take legal action against the state chapter of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) over claims that Governor Jibrilla Bindow is planning to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the PDP.

Musa is therefore, seeking an apology from the PDP within two weeks for banding such falsehood or he will head to court to seek redress.

He said the PDP should make a public declaration to debunk claims that the governor made overtures to them to enable him defect from the APC, adding that the state chapter of the PDP must clarify the misconception that the governor has been holding secret meetings with the party.

According to him, the PDP should apologize to the governor, his cabinet and the entire people of the state for such false impression and assure the people of the state that such cheap gimmick will not be repeated.

“The claim by the PDP in the media insinuating that the number one citizen of Adamawa state is defecting to the opposition is a baseless allegation and is highly condemnable.

“Such cheap political gimmick to mislead the public and create false impression before the people of the state is highly uncalled for. Such campaign of calumny and distortion of political realities will no longer be condoned.

“For the chief security officer of the state, who is in charge of the ruling party structure to have a second thought of exiting the party for political refugees is unthinkable.

”In the past, probably it worked, but for now it is pertinent to note that the PDP is a sinking ship and is desperate to woo the governor to its fold and should not twist the story the other way round,” Musa added.

He vowed that if within the two –week deadline nothing has been done by the PDP, he would resort to legal action for defamation and assassinating the character, and image of the state governor.
