Addressing newsmen and supporters at the party secretariat, Hon Kakouare, who is also the leader of the party in the state, berated the state electoral commission for conducting the worst local government election in the state, stressing that the election does not reflect the will of Lagosians.

Kakouare added that the election was massively rigged in favour of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that several of the party supporters were beaten up by tout who took up the conduct of the election from the LASIEC officials. He said, “this is the third time we are going to have this kind of election were the result does not reflect the will of the people, we say enough is enough.

People were beaten up and thrown into the gutter, we lost a soul a day to the election, we are going to fight this result to logical conclusion. We demand the recount of the election result because we know we won. Those that offended in this election must be trialed, all LASIEC staff agent of APC,” Kakouare said.

Also speaking, the state Secretary, Comrade Lanre Ogundare rejected the result of the election, stressing that the party won six chairmanship positions in Orile Agege, Ikosi Isheri, Oshodi, Shomolu and Idi-ojuwoye.

Ogundare stressed that the party was not given any copy of the results of the election, while it was not part of the counting process, adding that the party heard of the issuance of Certificate of Return to the victorious candidates through the media. He berated the electoral commission for rigging the election in favour of APC, adding that the party would challenge the result to the highest level.

He said: Our party was robbed in this election, we won about six local governments based on the result our agents have. This is a free mandate given by Lagosian, there is none of our candidates that do not pay tax, the party would fight this election result to a logical conclusion. We have the video of officials rigging the election and anybody that stole the mandate of the people must be jailed.
