Abuja to host 2016 Glo/Caf awards

The awards ceremony to celebrate Africa’s outstanding talents will be hosted in Nigeria’s capital city for the second consecutive year
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2016 Glo-Caf awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
Abuja will be hosting the awards for the third time and second consecutive year after hosting the inaugural edition in 2005 and its 2015 version held earlier this year in January.
“The 2016 Glo-CAF Awards will be held in the city of Abuja, Nigeria and the new African Footballer of the Year, the greatest African football legends and 15 winners in other categories will be unveiled during the Gala night,” Caf said in a statement.
Borussia Dortmund and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the reigning African Player of the Year with Mbwana Ally Samatta taking home the gong for the African Player of the Year Based in Africa.
