Abia State Government, in liaison with the World Bank has concluded plans to enumerate all erosion sites in the state.

The state Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Aham Uko disclosed this to newsmen last Saturday after the state monthly cleanup exercise, adding that already the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has mandated him to ggo round the state over that.

The state, he said is worried over the multiplicity of erosion sites caused by erosion across the state, especially in Umuahia, Aba, Ngodo Isuochi, and Uturu among others.
The essence of the exercise, he said is to “enumerate and see how to tackle them after the rains have stopped.
