Abia State: Homosexual beaten to death, partner declared wanted

A suspected homosexual, Egbu James Amauche, from Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State has been declared wanted.

James was declared wanted after he escaped a mob attack.

However, his gay partner, Agozie Okechukwu was not that lucky as he was beaten to death by an angry mob.

James and his accomplice were caught red-handed by the community vigilante while they were committing homosexuality, an act considered abomination.

A competent source hinted that they had been warned on several occasions to desist from the act but they kept deaf ears, prompting the vigilante to mount surveillance on them.

“He has been confronted severally over his atrocious acts but he kept claiming he was innocent,” the source said.

According to the source, “on that very day, the duo were in the room committing the abominable act. A neighbour hinted at the local security and they burst, open the room, with two men naked.

“The villagers who had been suspicious of their movement kept a tab on them until they got sure that they had commenced the abominable act.

“They swooped on them, but James managed to escape from the bedroom window; however, his partner was not that lucky as he was lynched by the angry mob while trying to escape.

“The vigilante tried to save them but the crowd was uncontrollable,” the community source said.

He added that “Egbu, James Amuche” is nowhere to be found; but the police and the vigilante have vowed to get him because he desecrated the land.

Meanwhile, a top police officer, who confirmed the incident, said the law frowns at jungle justice.

He, however, said James would still be traced and arrested to face his crime of engaging in homosexual immorality.
