Abia Poly set to introduce Mass Communication department

Abia State Polytechnic Aba has concluded plans to introduce the department of Mass Communication.

This was as even the acting Rector of the institution, Prof. Ezionye Friday Eboh, says he has cleared the salary arrears of the staff up to December, 2016.

Prof. Ezionye Friday Eboh broke this cheering news at the weekend while interacting with journalists in his office, disclosing that the management of the school is on the matter.
He said: “If we get what we are asking from TETfund (Tertiary Education Trust Fund), by 2017/2018 academic year, we will introduce the course”.

While noting that introducing the course is capital intensive, he said, “If you start anything, start it well. The stage is set for MASSCOM in the school”.

The acting Rector told newsmen that the institution is just recovering from a number of challenges and thanked God for bringing the school this far.

The acting Rector who said he came on seat seven months ago with the school gates under lock and key, thanked God that “by His divine grace”, the three industrial unions in the school called off their strikes barely three days he started work as the Rector, stating “since then, the school has been peaceful.
