Abia PDP condoles former Dep. Gov over mother’s death

The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Abia State chapter, Chief Johnson Okebaram Onuigbo, has led the party’s State executive to pay condolence visit to the former Deputy Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Eric Acho Nwakanma, over the demise of his mother.

Speaking at Acho Nwakanma’s residence in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State during the visit, the PDP chairman pointed out that God designed that everyone shall die some day, “but it is our prayers that we will grow old just like Mama before dying”.

He pointed out that the death of a loved one especially mothers no matter the age, is usually painful as the bereaved will always remember something very important/memorable about her.

His words: “We came to console you over the demise of your mother. I want to inform you that God called her to eternal rest; your mother is a blessed woman who died at a ripe age”.

Speaking also, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the Governor, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, said it is a very good omen for the former Deputy Governor to be alive, hale and hearty and stand in a better position to bury his mother.

Responding, Rt. Hon. Eric Acho Nwakanma thanked God that his late mother lived a fulfilled life while on earth.

He said: “I am consoled and confident that my mother is happy wherever she is now. We owe her one thing and that thing is to give her a befitting burial. We chose November 23 for her interment”.

He however commended the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the spirit of unity/oneness existing among them.
“I am so excited and happy to receive the enlarged State executive of my party, the PDP. I must commend the party Chairman, Chief Johnson Onuigbo, for the conviviality existing among party members”, he said.

Late Mrs. Jemima Nwakanma, who is also the mother of the wife of the Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, died at the age of 87.
