Abducted siblings regain freedom in Ebonyi

The police in Ebonyi state has recovered two siblings aged five and 10, who were abducted from their home in Abakaliki at gunpoint.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Loveth Oda, stated this in a press statement in Abakaliki.

Mrs. Oda alleged that the kidnappers robbed the mother of the siblings of huge amount of money before taking her children away.

According to her, the suspected kidnappers later demanded N10 million ransom, but had to abandon the children in Afikpo South Local Government Area following pressure from police operatives.

Mrs. Oda said the children had been reunited with their parents while efforts were being made to track down the abductors and their collaborators.

It was gathered that three suspects were also in police custody over the aborted abduction of a seven -month- old baby in Abakaliki.
