APC chieftain urges Sylva to accept defeat, work with Dickson

A Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the current
Special Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State on inter-party relations, Hon.
Ben Eyororokumoh, has appealed to his boss and the Candidate of
his party in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in the state,
to close ranks and work together with governor Dickson in order to
move the state forward and better.
Eyororokumo, who made this call in an interview with newsmen in his
Yenagoa office, asked Sylva to borrow a leave from former President
Jonathan who congratulated his successor after he lost the general
elections to him, adding that instead of dragging the country backward
through the processes of court cases, he yielded to defeat for the
benefit of all.
He stated that a good politician must always accept defeat when the
odds are against him and allow the system to move forward rather than
cause unnecessary distractions and delay to the development of his
people, adding that politics shouldn’t be seen as a game of
desperation but an opportunity to serve and develop the people.
“As a good politician you should accept defeat and allow the system to
flow, politics is not a do or die affair. A person that loses today
could be the winner tomorrow. We saw former President Jonathan who set
a precedent to all politicians, when he lost to President Buhari, he
immediately congratulated him rather than dragging the whole country
through a backward declination of tribunal, appeal and then the
supreme court which will cost a lot of tax payers monies that would
have been spent on something else”
He added that “Though the APC leader has lost twice in the court it is
definitely affecting the state as a whole, it is causing a serious
distraction to the government of the day apart from the APC. I feel
since other parties have sent a congratulatory message to the serving
party and the governor of the state during the just concluded IPAC
elections in the state, Sylva should shun grievances against Dickson
and embrace him for more attraction of development from the federal
government”
We all remember when he was the governor and after ten months the
court nullified his elections, I was working with him and I know how
disturbed and distracted he was, that even when he came back it took
time before he could set his feet back and develop the state for the
five years he govern.
