NIGERIAN LEADERSHIP: FOCUSED OR MISUGIDED

The attention of the Christian Youths in Nigeria has been drawn on National issues given the dangerous trends in our society particularly under this administration.
Nigerian Christians voted the Buhari – APC administration notwithstanding the overwhelming dominance by Muslims at the helm of the APC machinery prior to the election as indicated below:
S/NO | NAMES | POSITION | RELIGION |
1 | Gen. Mohammadu Buhari | APC party leader North | Muslim |
2 | Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu | APC party leader South | Muslim |
3 | Abdulakareem Bisi Akande | APC National Chairman | Muslim |
4 | Aminu Bello Masari | APC Dep. National Chairman | Muslim |
5 | Tijjani Musa Tumsah | APC National Secretary | Muslim |
6 | Nasir El-Rufai | APC Deputy National Secretary | Muslim |

15 | Yemi Sanusi | APC Ex-officio member | Muslim |
The above was the structure of APC National leadership over ran by a tide of Muslims, prior to the 2015 elections.
The above dominance of Muslims at the top leadership of APC we believe is a prelude to the impunity of present massive and loop-sided dominance at all major sensitive security position by Muslims under this administration as confirmed thus:

The mode and pattern of appointments in this administration is to say the least alarming and highly suspicious as well as insulting to the Intelligence of Christians.
In a country without a true separation of power, where subordinates are at the mercy of Chief Executives and in view of the overbearing Executive powers in an emerging illiberal democracy like ours – certainly, the fears and concern of Nigerian Christian Youths and Christians in general over marginalization has been confirmed.
Concerning grazing reserve or ranch, we strongly advice the administration and legislatures against taking or imposing unpopular decisions without consultation in their constituencies. This will not only be counter-productive to the Fulani herdsmen, but can lead to chaos and anarchy which no security in Nigeria may quell.
The religious preaching bill proposed by the Kaduna State Governor is considered as a test run sequel to full censorship of Christians who are the primary target to be banned and restricted from preaching – which is the main commission of ALL CHRISTIANS (Acts 1:8).
It will be recalled that prior to adoption of Sharia by other Northern State Governors, same plot was used by Ahmed Sani Zamfara who casually introduced Sharia in Zamfara State in 27th January, 2000. Ignorantly, then President Olusegun Obasanjo allowed the greatest transaction of Nigerian Constitution with the believe, “It (Sharia) will fizzle out”.
While Christians innocently avoided serious debate to counter or resist the introduction of Sharia, today, all Christian youths have realized that Sharia is being used to ward-off Christianity and Evangelism in the North. While grazing reserve and ranch are intended as occupational policy for Fulani and Islam to penetrate the Middle-Belt and Southern Nigeria.
We simply demand freedom of speech, association, the right to chose ones’ religious of choice and promotion of social justice to all Nigerians, rather than a systematic imposition or dominance of one religion over the others.
In view of the raging unemployment and poverty, we urgently, draw the attention of government to create direct job opportunities and other empowerment schemes to youths as a matter of National emergency.
Nigerian youths and working age group have been reduced to slaves and beggars under scorching hunger and poverty as a result of governments’ wrong or sudden policies. Often, these are policies without adequate arrangement to ameliorate sufferings and no plans to resolve inherent and obvious short and long term effects on food prices, lay-off from jobs, and lack of or fleeing investors.
Fire brigade approach taken to solve national issues requiring patience, tact, professionalism and wisdom can only be counter-productive.
In conclusion, we hope that the on-going recruitment exercise in the Police, Para-military agencies, Armed forces as well as employment in Ministries and Parastatals will not be characterized by politics, nepotism or religious sentiments especially with the strategic positioning of Muslims in key positions without recourse to its divisiveness and dangers.
