IGP deploys two more armoured vehicles to Kebbi for anti-banditry operations

Kayode Egbetokun, inspector-general of police (IGP), has deployed two additional armoured personnel carriers (APCs) to boost the fight against banditry in Kebbi state.
Bello Muhammad Sani, commissioner of police in the state, formally presented the vehicles to Governor Nasir Idris on Monday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
Idris described the deployment as a milestone in efforts to tackle insecurity, noting that it would complement earlier APCs sent by the police headquarters to troubled parts of the state.
“If you recall, not long ago, the police authorities under the IGP, alongside the military, deployed armoured personnel carriers to Kebbi state — we remain grateful,” Idris said.
He said the arrival of the vehicles was timely, as the rainy season and farming activities were at their peak, providing much-needed security to protect farmers from bandit attacks.
The governor expressed appreciation to the IGP and the police authorities, and pledged his administration’s continued support to security agencies in the state.
Sani later took the governor on an inspection tour of the vehicles.
