Whereabouts Of Pregnant Woman Unknown After Undergoing Cleansing Process

The youths and elders of Ugbowo Community in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State, have launched a manhunt for a young woman, Osamwentin Omoigui Roland over her allegations bisexuality preferred against her

The sexual orientation of Osamwentin, according to multiple sources, have been a source of concerned to the youths of Ugbowo Community.

It was gathered that her sexuality has been a subject of debate right from her secondary school days. Her mother got to know about her preference for girls sometimes in 2019, when she overheard her talking to her girlfriend, Cynthia, and she promptly informed her husband, Osamwentin:s father.She was scolded and reprimanded by her parents and they threatened to disowned her, if she did not put a stop to the disgusting, disgraceful, abominable and unholy sexual behaviour.

It was gathered that after this threats, she desisted from the act, and started a relationship with a guy called Julius in late 2023.

The relationship according to our source was going on smoothly, until June 2024, when the youths in the community invaded her family house, accused her of same sex activities, she was stripped naked and severely beaten, afterwards she was taken to the community head, Chief Edward’s palace.

According to the source, she was accused of desecrating the land for her same sex practices and luring other young girls in the community into the evil acts.She was told to prepare herself for spiritual cleansing to appease the gods against the evil that

will afflict the community because of her evil deeds

While this was going on, it was discovered that she was pregnant. Her parents told her that she do not have any choice but to accept the cleansing process, since they said that she will be killed if she refuses

The source also said that the date of the cleansing was set for July 16, 2023. On the appointed date, she followed them to the place to start the cleansing process, which was to last for four days.

The process of the rites of cleansing, according to the source was crude, unbearable and fetish, and the Chief Priest who was in charge of the cleansing told her that if Osamwentin delivers a baby girl, the baby will undergo the circumcision rites.

Whenall this threats, harassments and fetish traditional rites of cleansing she was going through, became unbearable, she fled on the fourth day, to safeguard her life and that of her unborn child.

Since she fled, Osamwentin Omoigui Roland’s whereabouts is unknown as the community elders and youths are threatening fire and brimstone over her disappearance. The matter has since been reported to the police.
