Chief Mrs Nkechi Obi Mum’s Influence

Chief Mrs Nkechi Obi (MON), who was the Executive Vice Chairman of Techno Oil and Gas, in the year 1998, is an astute business woman, whose doggedness nurtured Techno Oil, from an Exxo franchise and Lubricant product seller, to the fastest growing indigenous Oil and Gas firm in Nigeria.

Today, Techno Oil can conveniently boast of its annual revenue running into over $400 Million with over 500 staff strength.

Nkechi’s close allies often say that; “If there is one thing she despise so much, it is the sight of people around her in distress.
“Nkechi would spare no cost in rendering assistance to the needy”.

Over the years, she has always been in the forefront of championing wealth creation and women empowerment through her ‘Techno Oil Cook-safe Initiative’.

On Thursday, October 15, 2017, Nkechi was invited as one of the keynote speaker at the National Company of the year competition organised for secondary school students across the country by Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN).

The event was held at The Orchid hotel event centre, Lekki-Epe express way, Lagos. When she mounted the podium to address the students and other attendee present at the event, her oratory prowess caught the attention of those meeting her for the first time.

She gladly shared her success story to inspire the students. In her words, she said; I started business when I was in secondary school.

During holidays, my mom would tell me to join her at the bustling Balogun market, where she sells textiles materials. Reluctantly, I heeded to her words.

All I learnt in business today, I learnt it from that small shop with my mother at Balogun market and today it has really worked for me”.
