9 dead, others on danger list in Ekiti road crash

Nine persons have been confirmed dead while others in an 18 seater bus have been reported to be in danger list in an early morning road crash in Awo community in Irepodun/Ifelodun LGA of Ekiti State.

Eye witness told our correspondent that that the Toyota Hiace bus, said to have been conveying the passengers from Lagos to Abuja, had head-on collision with a trailer on Awo – Igede road on Wednesday morning.

The bodies of the passengers were squeezed in the crushed bus while others who were in critical condition had been rushed to hospital

The Police State Public Relations Officer PPRO Celeb Ikechukwu confirmed that nine persons were confirmed dead when their men got to the scene, adding that the nine dead bodies had been deposited at Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti (FETHI).

“The rest of them in critical condition but they have rushed to hospital”. He said.

The PPRO said accident involved a commercial bus with Reg. No- LA EKY 978FJ which ran into stationery Trailer No – Yobe FB 404 FKA.
